Falkirk Council

Starkevents have worked with Falkirk Council since 2002 on a number of high profile events including events around the My Futures in Falkirk project.

Hippodrome Bo'ness

On Monday 6th April 2009, 97 years since it was built, the Hippodrome Bo'ness opened its doors again. The Hippodrome is Scotland's first purpose built cinema and Starkevents had the privilege of organising the re-opening with Falkirk Council and Wave PR.

All the glitz of an Oscar ceremony provided the perfect backdrop for the Community Event of the Year. Members of the local community made up the guest list and provided the final bit of glamour to the event plus the world-wide press coverage following the event ensured that this iconic building is acknowledged as being well and truly re-opened.

Freedom of Falkirk

Starkevents worked as event consultants for the Freedom of Falkirk event in 2005.

Local World War II veterans received the Freedom
of Falkirk in 2005 in a unique and moving ceremony.  At the time it was believed to be the first time a
local authority in the U.K. had honoured its war
veterans in this way.

The ceremony involved 750 world war veterans and guests at the Grangemouth Stadium.  The venue
was prepared for the event over a 3-day event build
and the programme involved afternoon tea for the
750 guests, entertainment from the Lowland Band,
local pipers and Grangemouth High school pupils.
Local primary and secondary school pupils from
the Falkirk Council area assisted in the ceremony.
